Five teams perform five original, ten-minute episodic plays with only six hours of rehearsal time. Then YOU, the audience, vote for your three favorites. The plays with the most votes come back with a brand new episode of the same storyline the following week of SERIALS. Teams with the least votes come back with a pilot episode of a brand new storyline.
Every SERIALS weekend is a mix of audience favorite storylines and something totally new.
Indie Theater in NYC is a community
The NYC indie theater community produces hundreds of brand new plays annually across dozens and dozens of companies. We believe in that work—bold, risky, non-commercial and full of imagination and soul.
SERIALS is an important part of that project, serving as a hub for this community of artists. So much of indie theater starts right here, so please consider investing in our art making, our community, and the future of indie theater.
